what are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are a safe way to extend the length and thickness of your eyelashes, not like “false eyelashes” that can be applied at home. They are applied on a hair-by-hair basis directly to your own lashes for a totally natural look and feel.
how long will the eyelash extensions last?
When properly applied and cared for, your eyelash extensions can last up to two months or more (the length of the natural growth cycle of each natural eyelash hair). The extensions adhere to the individual eyelash (not the lashbed) and do not fall off themselves.
We naturally lose 3 to 5 eyelashes per day and new ones grow in. When your natural lash falls out, the extension falls out with it. After your initial starter set, touch-ups (fills) are recommended approximately every 2 to 3 weeks.
what kind of lash extensions are offered?
We offer synthetic mink eyelash extensions. Mink lashes are a safe, soft, matte synthetic material created to closely resemble real mink hair. They are curled, tapered, and lighter and more flexible than conventional synthetic lashes. Mink lashes are gentle on the natural lash, while holding their shape. These lashes are ideal for people with sensitive eyes or thin lashes.
how do I care for my eyelash extensions?
Care should be taken not to rub or scratch eyes. Also, any creams, eye makeup removers, lotions, or cleansers containing glycols or carbonates can loosen the bond of the extensions. Eye cream should be used only sparingly with avoidance of the lash line area. Water soluble mascara can be worn, however, constant use of mascara may shorten the life-span of your lashes. Waterproof mascara is not recommended as it will dissolve the bond with the lashes.
what if I decide I no longer want extensions?
If you choose not to keep up with your extensions by having the monthly fills, the lashes with extensions on them will eventually all shed and you will return to having all-natural lashes in a few months. We highly recommend to have them professionally removed if you don’t want them to fall off naturally. The eyelash extensions have no effect on your lashbed follicles and will not inhibit future lash growth.
